Please be aware that almost all Turn One products are built-to-order for each customer. We are not a big-box retailer or distributor and can't ship same-day! Extra time, effort and attention go into every customer order, therefore, steering boxes and pumps have a build/processing turnaround of 7-10 business days to ship. Fittings and accessories have a 2-3 business day turnaround to ship. If you have specific time frame you need to get your product, we try and make every accommodation, but you must call us to see if we can meet your shipping deadline. 877-GO-TURN1.
Steering pump: 1.5 - 2 weeks
Steering boxes: 2 weeks
Rack & pinions: Highly dependent on year/make/model and condition of core. Corvettes and Mustangs are around 2.5 weeks.
Please keep in mind that these are averages, and that we do our best to get your part rebuilt and sent back as quickly as possible. We ultimately care about quality and so we will take the time and care necessary to get you a properly rebuild part. If you have questions or concerns about our leads times as related to your part, please call us at 877-GO-TURN1.
Standard Rebuild
Starts at $375
Turn One’s rack and pinion rebuilding service is the most comprehensive rebuilding service available. All our rack services include a careful disassembly, component inspection, cleaning, service, and reassembly of racks including a new seal kit. After reassembly, Turn One dyno tests the rack and tunes it for top quality and performance. Standard rack styles include domestic manufacturers like GM-based racks, Mustang II or Thunderbird racks, and Dodge racks (**Excluding Corvettes and exotic models).
C5/C6 Corvette Rebuild
Starts at $425
Corvettes are one of our specialties! The C5 and C6 platforms are both fantastic, track-capable chassis, and many of our customers push their corvettes to the limits. Whether you have a known issue, or you are just wanting a refresh before the next track day, our rebuilding service will bring your Corvette rack back to its peak potential. We also take extra precautions during the rebuild to seal the Electro-Magnet area that is commonly prone to leaking. *Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee a perfect seal from the Electro-Magnet wire area, but we've had great success with our sealing process to improve or stop previous leaks.
84-87 C4 Corvette Rebuilds
Starts at $600
C4 Corvettes between 84-87 years (and some early 88's) were produced using rack & pinions with an aluminum valve housing. The Teflon seals that surround the spool valve wear grooves into the aluminum housing. Whether or not the driver can feel the steering issues that result from these grooves, Turn One must perform necessary work to correct this issue in order to properly rebuild the rack and reassemble the valve. The extra work involves boring the housing and inserting a steel sleeve that will not wear. This is a one-time, permanent fix for the housing issue. Unfortunately, we are unable to properly rebuild and test your 1984-1987 C4 rack without completing this fix.
Exotic / Non-standard Rebuild
Starts at $500
Our non-standard rack rebuilds include foreign manufacturers, exotic vehicles, or other rare vehicles that may require special tooling to work on, or hard-to-acquire replacement parts. Examples of non-standard racks include Mazda, Nissan, Porsche, Mercedes, Rolls Royce, Land Rover, etc. If you’re unsure of what category your rack and pinion falls into, please call Turn One customer support and we’ll be happy to ensure you know the base cost of the rebuild before sending us your part.
IMPORTANT INFO FOR EXOTIC VEHICLE RACKS
Because there are no standard seals kits available for unique, exotic, and/or low production cars, almost all of these require that seals be individually spec’d and sourced. Furthermore, these seals often have to ship from overseas. Timelines on seal availability have been EXTREMELY unpredictable, with long lead times for us to receive them. Please estimate at rack turnaround of NO LESS than 12 weeks.
Why the “starts at” cost?
The final cost can’t be determined until we actually get the rack and have it apart to inspect components, and see what parts will be necessary in the rebuild. Obviously, some rack and pinions may require new components due to wear, pitting, or failure. We reuse as many components as we can to keep costs down. Ultimately, we care about the quality and performance of your pump, so replacement parts may be required, which will affect the final cost of your rebuild.
Sourcing Costs
Usually it's easier and faster if you purchase and send any replacement parts like boots or tie rods with your rack when you mail it to us. However, we're happy to source new components if you'd like. Sometimes this is necessary for a quality rebuild, but sometimes customers would simply like new components. Please just be aware that having us source components will add time to your rebuild, and we have a minimal $25 service fee for the time needed to search for, order and install these parts.
Expedited Service
$200
We understand that sometimes you need your rebuild done, and fast. We offer expedited services, which moves your steering rack to the top of our rebuild priority, so it’s worked on quicker. While this does prioritize the rebuild, we cannot guarantee a specific turnaround. Keep in mind that if the rack needs additional work or replacement parts, it will add time to the rebuild process.
