We recommend using a full-synthetic, dedicated power steering fluid from a reputable brand.
Boom! Easy. A modern full-synthetic will handle temperature and fluid expansion better, fluid breakdown better, and cavitation/foaming better. This can be especially important as you increase the performance capabilities of the vehicle (such as higher rpm driving, harder cornering, track driving, etc.). Running a low-quality or improper fluid can be hazardous to the power steering pump and can lead to quicker wear and potential failures.
Due to popular demand, we carry both Red Line and Driven full-synthetic. These are both high quality fluids that have been proven both on and off-track.
